In more than 20 years of collaboration with Richard (within the EBMT) I can't remember a day when he was not a smiling, kind and helpful person. I remember his passion for photography, for dancing, and for his Polish roots. I enjoyed how surprisingly, just a few years, he built a lovely family, with Blanka. I admired his good spirit while he was aware that the disease was moving on. I wish the best for the children, papà loved you much.

I have very good memories of Richard as an essential member of the EBMT Statistical Committee, and I will miss his contribution, mostly in education and creating a collaborative atmosphere, and of course his laugh. My sympathy is with Richard's family.

A good friend and scientist/researcher with an infectious laugh and with a beautiful family. Rysio will be missed, Karola and I will pray for his soul to repose with the Good Lord, but nevertheless a sad day.
